Col. Deborah Liddick, 56th Maintenance Group commander, will relinquish command to Col. Victor Mora at 8 a.m. July 10 in Hangar 913.

Lt. Col. Charles DeLapp, 56th Training Squadron commander, will relinquish command to Lt. Col. Matthew Liljenstolpe at 8 a.m. July 13 in Hangar 1022.
56th AMDS assumption of command
Lt. Col. Daniel Smith will assume command of the 56th Aerospace Medicine Squadron at 8 a.m. Monday in Club Five Six.
Freedom Fest
The 56th Force Support Squadron will host the 2012 Freedom Fest 6 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fowler Park. A military identification card or access onto Luke is required to attend. This free event will feature live music, food, face painting, a splash zone for children and other concessions. A fireworks show begins at 9 p.m.
Diamondbacks appreciate Luke
The Arizona Diamondbacks are hosting a Luke Air Force Base Appreciation Night Wednesday at their home game against the San Diego Padres. All military identification card holders will receive game tickets at 50 percent off. Tickets can be purchased at the gate (with military ID) or ordered in advance by contacting Brian McCaman, Arizona Diamondbacks Group Sales Account Executive, at (602) 462-4204. The game starts at 6:40Â p.m. The first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive a Fourth of July T-shirt. There will be a fireworks show after the game.
Commissioning process
The United States Air Force Academy and its preparatory school are looking for enlisted Airmen who meet the criteria to enter the commissioned ranks. Active-duty Airmen can apply for one of the 85 slots available through the Leaders Encouraging Airmen Development program. Applicants must be younger than 23 by Sunday for entry into the academy, or younger than 22 by Sunday for entry into the preparatory school, unmarried, U.S. citizen and have no dependents. Interested Airmen must complete the precandidate questionnaire online at www.academyadmissions.com, have a letter of endorsement with an AF Form 1786 signed by the squadron commander and Military Personnel Flight, have official high school transcripts and ACT/SAT scores. Holiday hours
Due to the Fourth of July holiday, AETC family day, and 56th Fighter Wing training day, some activities under the 56th Force Support Squadron will have the following modified hours of operation:
Dining facility: Open Wednesday through July 6, brunch is 6Â a.m. to 1 p.m.; supper is 4 to 6:30 p.m.; midnight meal 11:30Â p.m. to 1 a.m.
Flight kitchen: Closed Wednesday through July 6
ID card section: Closed Wednesday and Thursday; open 8Â a.m. to noon July 6; (to schedule an ID card appointment visit, http://rapids-appointments.dmdc.osd.mil)
Military personnel section: Closed Wednesday through July 6.
Federal Daily
The Air Force Library program now provides the Federal Daily to all Air Force Portal customers. Go to the Air Force Portal, click on the Library tab. It can also be found by going to the drop down box, Databases and Online Resources, and clicking on Mission Support. The same information is on the ACC/AFSOC/AFGSC Portal page. Russian discussion club
Practice the Russian language with a native speaker. Learn about the history and culture of Russia. The group meets at 1 p.m. Saturdays and is open to all base personnel. For more information, call club coordinator Airman 1st Class Sergey Voytov at (602) 373-7601 or the library at (623) 856-7191.
Load crew competition
The quarterly loading competition is 8 and 10 a.m. and noon July 13 in Bldg. 485. The competition pits the best load crews from the five aircraft maintenance units against each other in a side-by-side loading competition evaluated by weapons standardization personnel. Scholarships
The Luke Enlisted Spouses Club is now accepting applications for two $500 scholarships for spouses of active-duty or deceased members. Finance office closed
