“If our country is worth dying for in time of war let us resolve that it is truly worth living for in time of peace.â€
~ Hamilton Fish
We often speak in the military of laying our lives down in defense of our nation — the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom. What about the antithesis of that — what does it mean to “live for†our country? What is it that we can do to make a positive difference within the communities we live? We all need to make a conscientious effort to benefit the greater community: get out and vote (hint, hint!), teach our children morals and values, buy American (especially at the local “mom and pop†stores), volunteer, follow the laws, etc. Ultimately, the answer comes full circle … we can live for our country in recognizing and paying homage to those who did die for our freedoms.
Blessings from Above…
