Stand in line for ticket, then stand in line for popcorn, freeze to death in the theater and walk away with someone else’s candy stuck to the bottom of your shoe.
No matter how good the film may be, the overall movie experience, in my opinion, is affected by the attitude you have when the curtain opens.
That’s why the iPic Theater, located in the Scottsdale Quarter (North Scottsdale), is the perfect setting for an escape from the average night out at the movies.
This multifaceted, luxurious movie theater goes a step further in making sure your entire night is, to say the least, enjoyable.
If you want to start your night a little before the movie begins, or continue it after the movie is over, iPic has you covered, offering a wide and delicious dinner selection prepared by a graduate of the Culinary Institute, to your choice of adult beverages, including several beers on tap and an impressive wine selection.
Tanzy, the restaurant operated by iPic and located on the second level, offers a delectable Mediterranean style cuisine with beautiful views (especially at night), and has a warm, relaxing atmosphere. It’s a little pricy, but if it’s in your budget, it’s well worth it.
If you’ve already satisfied your appetite earlier in the evening, the Salt Ultra Lounge located near the main lobby offers a unique nighttime experience and prides itself on the fresh, out-of-the-box adult drinks as well as its night club atmosphere.
But enough about all of the extras, let’s get down to the real reason you’re going: The movie.
Ordering your tickets online before you go to the movie allows you to pick them up at a convenient and easy-to-use kiosk, or you may purchase them at the front counter.
iPic offers two seating selections: Premium Seating and Premium Plus Seating. Premium will run you $15 for members or $18.50 for nonmembers and is located in the front half of the theater with large leather chairs. You may bring food and drinks from Tanzy Express with you. If you want to take it a step further, Premium Plus is $20 for members or $29 for nonmembers and offers fully reclining, plush micro-suede chairs with a pillow and blanket. It also includes popcorn and full in-cinema food and beverage services. All prices may vary on weekends and holidays.
It was pricy, but I was in a completely different world when I was at iPic, and if you’re looking for a true VIP night, it’s definitely a place to go.
