Street Beat – August 3, 2012

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents July 20 through 26:
 

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for 12 moving and two nonmoving violations.
 

Traffic-related incidents

July 20: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at South Gate. There were no injuries.

July 20: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at Bldg. 1124. There were no injuries.

July 24: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at Bldg. 310. There were no injuries.

 

Emergency responses

July 21: Security forces responded to a report of gun shots heard at the base perimeter adjacent to Coyote Cabaret. Sweeps were conducted with negative findings.

July 26: Security forces responded to a report of a suspicious package at Bldg. 811. A cordon was established. An explosive ordnance disposal unit and firefighters responded and assumed control.

 

Nonemergency responses

July 20: Security forces responded to a report of an individual loitering at Lightning Gate. Contact was made with a homeless individual with no base affiliation. The individual was escorted off the installation.

July 20: Security forces responded to a wants and warrants hit at South Gate. Arizona Game and Fish responded and assumed control.

July 21: Security forces responded to a report of a gate runner at South Gate. Patrols made contact with a civilian individual. The individual was escorted off the installation.

July 21: Security forces responded to a noise complaint in billeting. Patrols briefed the individuals involved on base quiet hours.

July 21: Security forces responded to a noise complaint in Bldg. 546. Patrols briefed the individuals involved on base quiet hours.

July 26: Security forces responded to a report of an animal bite in housing. The dog owner was instructed to take the dog to the veterinarian to determine if it needed to be quarantined.

July 26: Security forces responded to a report of animal neglect in housing. An investigation was conducted with Glendale police. Glendale police determined no signs of animal neglect were present.

July 26: Security forces responded to a report of shoplifting involving three juveniles at Bldg. 1540. Glendale police responded and assumed control.

 

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to three alarm activations on base.

 

Tip of the week

Follow all posted speed limits. The speed limit when entering and exiting the installation is 15 mph.
