Street Beat – August 31, 2012

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents Aug. 17 through 23:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for five moving and one nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

Aug. 17: Security forces responded to a report of a major vehicle accident at the intersection of Super Sabre Street and Fight Country Avenue. One individual was transported to West Valley Hospital.

Aug. 21: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident on the flightline. There were no injuries.

Aug. 21: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at Bldg. 545. There were no injuries.

Aug. 21: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at the softball field. There were no injuries.

Emergency responses

Aug. 19: Security forces responded to a report of a 911 hang up in housing. The individuals were briefed on proper emergency contact procedures.

Aug. 19: Security forces responded to a report of a medical emergency at Bldg. 799. The patient was treated on scene and released.

Aug. 20: Security forces responded to a report of a medical emergency in housing. An individual was transported to Banner Boswell Hospital.

Aug. 21: Security forces responded to a report of a medical emergency at Bldg. 1514. An individual was transported to Banner Boswell Hospital.

Aug. 21: Security forces responded to a medical emergency at Glendale Avenue and Lalomai Road. An individual was treated on scene and released.

Nonemergency responses

Aug. 21: Security forces responded to report of flooding along multiple roadways on the west side of base. The roads were closed until flood waters receded.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to four alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

To avoid accidents, minimize distractions such as talking and/or texting on a cell phone, be aware of road conditions, do not encourage aggressive drivers, keep a safe following distance, proceed with caution through intersections and use a spotter when possible.
