Command Priorities

Commands at all levels have priorities, which serve to focus an organization’s efforts. Here is an overview of priorities for the Air Force, Air Education and Training Command and the 56th Fighter Wing.

Air Force priorities:

Continue to strengthen the Air Force nuclear enterprise

Partner with the joint and coalition team to win today’s fight

Develop and care for Airmen and their families

Modernize air, space, and cyberspace inventories, organizations and training

Recapture acquisition excellence

Air Education and Training Command priorities:

Airman’s time: As leaders, we must take a look at what we expect of our Airmen, both on and off duty, and ensure we are using their time effectively.

Education transformation: The Air Force must continue to adapt how we provide Airmen the tactical expertise, operational competency and strategic vision to execute the full range of Air Force missions.

Culture Of Cost Consciousness: Every AETC Airman should constantly consider the cost implications of their actions. It’s about being good stewards of America’s resources. It is more than just achieving greater efficiency – it’s a mindset that makes cost considerations a part of everything we do.

56th Fighter Wing commander’s priorities:

Mission: Luke Air Force Base must provide the world’s best training to F-16 fighter pilots, maintainers and intelligence professionals, while we also deploy Airmen trained and ready to fight ongoing combat operations.

Leadership: We must very consciously develop our officer, enlisted and civilian Airmen into leaders. The true strength of America’s airpower is not in our equipment, but rather in the minds, hearts and bodies of our Airmen.

Community: We must actively pitch in to help make Luke AFB and the Air Force a great way of life. We must take care of each other and our families, and build healthy relationships with our downtown partners at all levels and continue to uphold the legacy that is Luke AFB.
