“Riches don’t make a man rich; they only make him busier.”
~ Christopher Columbus
A basic definition of contentment is being satisfied with what you already have. I believe this is something most people need to learn a little bit more. Now don’t get me wrong, wanting to better ourselves financially or professionally is OK as long as we realize those things cannot be the whole focus of our lives. The Bible tells us in 1Timothy 6:10, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” (NIV) Where do you consider yourself rich? Is faith and family at the top of your list? God blesses us in many ways and finances are only one small area. I encourage you to be content in the Lord and what He has already blessed you with; your life will be much more fulfilling that way.
