Chaplain thoughts – October 12, 2012

“If you don’t know where you are going, every road will get you nowhere.”

~ Henry Kissinger

I often meet people who say they have no direction in life; that they feel like they are only existing … only going through the motions. The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” God loves each and everyone one of us and wants the very best for us. Unfortunately, we too often refuse to follow His teachings. If you feel like your life lacks purpose, turn you life over to God and follow the road He has set for you.

Change leads to innovation

Lately, I’ve been ultra-sensitive to a perception that the only constant is change. Change is difficult. Lack of continuity can be challenging. However, change can also lead to innovation so long as there are individuals who can recognize opportunities and envision the promise of alternate paradigms. Innovation demands that we embrace change, both personally and...
