Jacob Scoresby deadlifts more than 400 pounds during the Bryant Fitness Center Powerlifting competition held Oct. 19. Scoresby lifted a total of 2,450 pounds placing second as Luke’s strongest male.

Ryan Steadley performs a squat during the Bryant Fitness Center Powerlifting competition held Oct. 19. The competitors did three events, the dead lift, squat and bench press, with each proper lift counting toward a total lifted weight. Jose Castro lifted 2,755 pounds winning strongest male.

Retiree lunch and bowl

Retirees can bowl for free 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the last Wednesday of the month when they purchase a combo meal at Route 56 inside Thunderbolt Lanes. Shoes are regular price. For more information, call (623) 856-6529.

Youth adventures

The Afternoon FHun Adventures program, for ages 9 to 18, is featuring health is fun 2:30 to 3 p.m. Monday and 4:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at the youth center. For more information, call (623) 856-7470.

World Wide Bowling

Children ages 5 to 18 can enter to win a 900 Global bowling ball and bag by bringing friends to bowl at Thunderbolt Lanes. For more infomation, call (623) 856-6529.

Golf lessons

Falcon Dunes Golf Course offers golf instruction with PGA golf instructors for adults and youth ages 6 to 17. All lessons are scheduled with the golf instructor and fees are paid in advance. For more information, call (623) 535-9334.

Grand Canyon Day Trip

The Luke Air Force Base Bryant Fitness Center will feature a day trip to the Grand Canyon Nov. 17. The cost is $40 per person. Trip includes transportation and park entry fee. Space is limited. For more information, call (623) 856-6267.
