Street Beat – November 1, 2012

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents Oct. 19 through 25:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for nine moving and 13 nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

Oct.19: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at Bldg. 920 parking lot. There were no injuries.

Oct. 12: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident on the flightline. There were no injuries. No aircraft were present.

Oct. 23: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident adjacent to Bldg. 1365. There were no injuries.

Emergency responses

Oct. 25: Security forces responded to a report of a domestic incident in base housing. The individual was apprehended and later released to the unit first sergeant.

Nonemergency responses

Oct. 19: Security forces responded to a wants and warrants hit at the Kachina Gate. Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office assumed control of the individual.

Oct. 18: Security forces responded to a report of an unattended child in base housing. The child was reunited with the parents.

Oct. 20: Security forces responded to a shoplifting incident at the base exchange. Glendale police assumed control.

Oct. 20: Security forces responded to an unattended child in base housing. The child was reunited with the parents.

Oct. 22: Security forces responded to a wants and warrants hit at the South Gate Visitor Center. Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office assumed control.

Oct. 23: Security forces responded to an unauthorized individual taking photos on the flightline. The pictures were deleted and the subject was briefed on flightline photography procedures.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to seven alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

To lower the risk of theft of private property and criminal activity in the community, lock all doors when leaving the home including vehicles. Firearms should be stored in a locked cabinet or safe. Secure items stored outdoors such as bicycles and leave the home’s front light on at night.
