New info out on requesting Citibank credit balance refunds

With GTC and CSA accounts merged back under the GTC program, requesting an eligible credit balance refund from Citibank when an account has been overpaid requires several things to think about.

Remember … split disbursement is no longer required for 100 percent of travel voucher reimbursement. A traveler should calculate expenses charged to the GTC and split disburse those funds accordingly.

In the event of a credit balance the cardholder has the following options:

• Do nothing. Any eligible credit balance will automatically be issued 60 days from the date the credit balance was reflected on the account. At that time Citibank will issue a refund to the mailing address on the account for any eligible credit balance refunds.

• Request a credit balance refund by calling the CitiBank number on the back of the GTC card. A credit balance refund will be issued on average 10 to 14 days after the request has been approved.

• The newest and fastest method is for the cardholder to log on to CitiManager and request the eligible credit balance refund be sent to the bank account through account card holder direct deposit. The eligible credit balance must be present on the account for at least 10 calendar days and is subject to further review as needed. Just look for the “Request Refund” tab under the statement section of the home page and follow the steps. The refund is directly deposited into the account of choice within two to three business days.

Gratitude cultivates exceptional leadership

Several months ago I was inspired by the phrase “cultivate an attitude of gratitude.” The topic was presented in a religious context; however, I found these words significant and profound when considered as a tenent of exceptional leadership. Safety begins with asking ‘What could go wrong?’

I’m sure most of us have been told to “be safe” at some point either by a commander, supervisor or even a co-worker. This holiday season will probably not be any different. Someone will use this simple phrase in the next few weeks, and it will feel like a cliché to you, but what does...
