Street Beat – December 21, 2012

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents Dec. 7 through 13:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for 13 moving and three nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

Dec. 9: Security forces and firefighters assisted Glendale police with an off-base vehicle accident.

Dec. 10: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at the base exchange parking garage. There were no injuries.

Dec. 10: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident on Fighter Country Avenue adjacent to Bldg. 497. There were no injuries.

Emergency responses

Dec. 7: Security forces responded to a report of a medical emergency at Subway. An individual was transported to West Valley Hospital.

Dec. 12: Security forces responded to a report of a medical emergency at the base exchange. An individual was transported to West Valley Hospital.

Nonemergency responses

Dec. 7: Security forces responded to a report of damage to government property at Bldg. 546. The incident is under investigation.

Dec. 7: Security forces responded to a warrant hit at South Gate Visitor Center. Glendale police took control of the individual.

Dec. 7: Security forces responded to a report of a theft of private property in base housing. The incident is under investigation.

Dec. 9: Security forces responded to a report of a wall jumper at the Southeast base perimeter adjacent to Glendale Avenue. An individual was detained and released to Glendale police.

Dec. 11: Security forces responded to a warrant hit at South Gate Visitor Center. Glendale police arrived and assumed control of the individual.

Dec. 11: Security forces was notified by Glendale police of the civil arrest of an active-duty Airman for driving under the influence.

Dec. 12: Security forces responded to an attempted unlawful entry at South Gate Visitor Center. Glendale police arrived and took control.

Dec. 12: Security forces responded to an individual failing to stop during a traffic stop. The suspect attempted to evade security forces but was stopped and taken into custody. The individual was barred from base. Glendale police took control.

Dec. 13: Security forces responded to a report of shoplifting at the base exchange. Glendale police took control.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to five alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

The holidays are near, so be safe and don’t drink and drive. Remember, for those of legal drinking age, the rule is to drink one drink per hour and no more than three drinks per night.
