Commander’s comments: “Airman Walker handled herself well as the Command Post door guard during the AETC Active Shooter Exercise,” said Master Sgt. Linda Rainey, 56th FW Command Post superintendent. “Although she felt pressured when several officers, who were not on the EAL, requested entry, she stood her ground until she received verification of a valid need for entry. Later, when she returned to the Command Post and found the initial exercise notification had gone wrong, she quickly sent out a corrected message, manned the PA and AtHoc system and monitored the EOC chat room without supervision. Without Airman Walker’s attention to detail and ability to work through chaos, that part of the exercise would’ve continued downhill. The Command Post leadership is very proud of her.”
