Thunderbolts power pounds

Timothy Noel, 56th Fighter Wing Safety, begins to lift 350 pounds Jan. 25 in the deadlift portion of the power lifting competition at the Luke Air Force Base Warrior Fitness Training Center. Noel completed the deadlift segment lifting a total of 700 pounds over the course of three reps.

Bodybuilding, figure, bikini competition

The 56th FSS Bryant Fitness Center is featuring a men’s bodybuilding competition and a women’s physique, figure and bikini competition 1 to 5 p.m. Feb. 16. Weigh-ins are 11 a.m. The cost is $40 per military member, $50 per nonmilitary and $20 per second weight division entry. Spectator admission is $3 for the day show and $7 for the evening show. Youth center sports

The 56th Force Support Squadron Youth Center is offering a co-ed youth winter basketball camp instructed by Bridget Pettis, Phoenix Mercury assistant coach and retired WNBA player. This is for youth program members, ages 9 to 14 and is $20 per person. The time is 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursdays beginning Thursday. For more information, call (623) 856-7470.

Youth dance classes

Get in step dance classes featuring ballet, tap and hip-hop/jazz instruction meet Thursdays at the youth center. Tap and ballet for ages 3 to 5 are 4:30 to 5:15 p.m.; ballet for ages 6 to 9 is 5:15 to 6 p.m. Hip-hop and Jazz for ages 8 to 12 are 6 to 6:45 p.m. and for teens 7 to 7:45 p.m. For more information, call (623) 856-7470.
