Street Beat – February 1, 2013

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents Jan. 18 through 24:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for nine moving and nine nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

Jan. 18: Security forces responded to a major vehicle accident at Super Saber Street and 143rd Avenue. An individual had minor injuries but declined medical treatment.

Jan. 24: Security forces responded to a minor vehicle accident at the commissary parking lot. There were no injuries.

Emergency responses

Jan. 22: Security forces responded to a medical emergency at the 56th Medical Group clinic. An individual was transported to West Valley Hospital.

Jan. 23: Security forces responded to a gas leak near Bldg. 617. The gas line was struck by construction personnel during excavation.

Jan. 24: Security forces responded to a medical emergency at Bldg. 750. An individual was transported to West Valley Hospital.

Nonemergency responses

Jan. 23: Security forces responded to a report of damage of government property on the flightline. The incident is under investigation.

Jan. 24: Security forces responded to an altercation between two minors in base housing. Glendale police took control.

Jan. 24: Security forces responded to a warrant hit at the Lightning Gate Visitor Center. Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies took control.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to two alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

Ensure that children know how to call 911 in emergencies and how to use a public phone. Help them practice making emergency phone calls and be sure emergency numbers like police, fire, poison control and emergency medical are by all phones.
