Street Beat – March 1, 2013

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents Feb. 15 through 21:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for 18 moving and three nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

Feb. 16: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at the intersection of Kiowa Street and Lalomai Street. There were no injuries.

Feb. 21: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at the intersection of Kachina Street and Thunderbird Street. There were no injuries.

Emergency responses

Feb. 16: Security forces and firefighters responded to a smoke alarm at Bldg. 640. The building was evacuated. There were no injuries.

Feb. 20: Security forces and firefighters responded to a report of a natural gas odor emitting from the security forces building. The building was evacuated. There were no findings.

Nonemergency responses

Feb. 16: Security forces responded to a report of an individual being verbally aggressive. The individual would not obey a direct order to standby and left the scene. The subject was apprehended and released to the unit first sergeant.

Feb. 21: Security forces responded to a warrant hit at the South Gate. Chandler police arrived and took control.

Feb. 21: Security forces responded to a report of provoking speeches and gestures at the Kachina Gate. An individual would not adhere to any commands and had false identification. The subject was apprehended and released.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to seven alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

To operate a motorcycle on base, all active-duty, Reserve and Guard personnel must possess a driver’s license with a motorcycle endorsement or a valid permit, and have proof of successful completion of an experienced-rider course sponsored by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.
