Street Beat – March 8, 2013

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following situations Feb. 22 through 28.

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for 21 moving and four nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

Feb. 22: Security forces responded to a minor vehicle accident in the parking lot of Bldg. 634. There were no injuries.

Feb. 27: Security forces responded to a minor vehicle accident near the Lightning Gate. There were no injuries.

Emergency responses

Feb. 22: Security forces and firefighters responded to a fire alarm at Bldg. 1150. Security forces assisted with the evacuation. There were no injuries.

Feb. 23: Security forces and firefighters responded to a medical emergency adjacent to Ocotillo Gate. An individual was transported off base for further assistance.

Feb. 25: Security forces and firefighters responded to a fire alarm at 13405 A Zuni Street. Security forces assisted with building evacuations and traffic control. There were no injuries.

Feb. 27: Security forces and firefighters responded to a medical emergency at Bldg. 1550. Security forces assisted with traffic control. An individual was transported to a local hospital.

Feb. 28: Security forces responded to a medical emergency at the base track. An individual was transported to a local hospital.

Nonemergency responses

Feb. 22: Security forces responded to a report of domestic disturbance at the intersection of Litchfield Road and Northern Avenue. A county sheriff arrived and took control.

Feb. 23: Security forces responded to a report of domestic abuse at Bldg. 1130. Phoenix police arrived and took control.

Feb. 27: Security forces responded to a report of shoplifting at Bldg. 1540. Glendale police arrived and took control.

Feb. 28: Security forces responded to a warrant hit at the South Gate. Surprise police arrived and took control of the subject.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to seven alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

Remember the Air Force 0-0-1-3 policy: Zero underage drinking, zero driving under the influence, one drink per hour and no more than three drinks per night.
