Street Beat – March 15, 2013

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following situations March 1 through 7:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for 11 moving and four nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

March 1: Security forces responded to a minor vehicle accident adjacent to Bldg. 400. There were no injuries.

March 2: Security forces responded to a minor vehicle accident in the parking lot of Bldg. 1540. There were no injuries.

Emergency responses

March 2: Security forces and firefighters responded to a fire alarm at Bldg. 687. There were no injuries.

March 5: Security forces responded to a medical emergency at Bldg. 1022. Security forces assisted with self-aid buddy care. An individual was transported off base for treatment.

Nonemergency responses

March 2: Security forces responded to a report of shoplifting at Bldg. 1540. Glendale police arrived and took control.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to seven alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

When driving in the rain, drivers should turn on headlights, increase following distance and slow down since it takes longer to stop in wet weather. It is also important to replace old, brittle windshield wipers.
