Hometown: Dupo, Ill.

Goals: To finish my career development courses, capture below-the-zone and test for staff sergeant as soon after as possible; ultimately to become a chief

Greatest feat: Graduating basic training and tech school

Self-description: I’m the guy who wants to make everything he does fun, a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan no matter their record and a huge St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan

Famous last words: “I feel the need; the need for speed.”

Off-duty interests: I love to bowl acaptain; enjoy playing video games, listening to music and cooking

Commander’s comments: “Airman Garwood is a motivated young Airman focused on all the right things, finishing his CDCs and starting on his CCAF,” said Lt. Col. James Blackman, 56th CMS commander. “His sights and goals are set very high; he is looking forward to competing for BTZ and making staff sergeant first chance he gets. He’s also an active supporter of squadron and base functions; he’s started his career off just right.”
