Street Beat – March 29, 2013

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following situations Marchch 15 through 21:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for 16 moving and six nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

March 17: Security forces responded to a minor vehicle accident on the second floor of the Luke Air Force Base Exchange parking garage. There were no injuries.

March 20: Security forces responded to a minor vehicle accident adjacent to Bldg. 948. There were no injuries.

Emergency responses

March 18: Security forces responded to a report of shoplifting at the base exchange. During apprehension, the suspect needed medical attention and was transported to West Valley Hospital. Glendale police arrived and took control.

Nonemergency responses

March 15: Security forces apprehended an individual during a traffic stop that had an active warrant. Peoria police could not respond and the individual was ticketed and escorted off the installation.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to five alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

A crime in progress or anything suspicious or out of the ordinary should be reported to security forces. It should never be assumed someone else called. Identity is kept confidential. To make a report, call (623) 856-5970.
