Education: Community College of the Air Force associate degree in applied sciences

Inspirations: My family in California, who continuously support me; the people I’ve met at Luke who encourage me daily.

Goals: To become an aeromedical evacuation technician and obtain a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences

Greatest Feat: Being the first in my family to join the military

Famous last words: “Yesterday’s home runs don’t win today’s games.” -Babe Ruth

Off-duty interests: Baseball, scrap booking, baking and reading

Commander’s comments: “Airman Chaidez’s dedication is apparent in her day-to-day tasks,” said Col. Nicola Choate, 56th MDOS commander. “Her efforts have reduced the no-show rate to 3-percent beating the Air Force standard of 5 percent. She is one of 17 Airmen who has been trained and entrusted to suture and perform skin biopsies. She has assisted with 35 minor surgical procedures. Her thorough pre- and post-operative care and instructions have resulted in a zero infection rate. She has fulfilled her up-grade training requirements and is currently 85 percent task certified thus 28 percent above her peers. She is also a Spanish translator bridging the language gap between the patients and the clinic. She is dedicated to her community and to self-improvement, and one of our future leaders.
