CES gets groove on

Members of the 56th CES begin a 2 ½-mile run across base. The route was from the gym to the CES compound and back.

The 56th Civil Engineer Squadron performs stretches prior to a physical training session Tuesday in the Luke Air Force Bryant Fitness Center gym April 30. The CESs PT program consists of running exercises, weight-room exercises and more.
 

Half marathon

The Luke Air Force Base Bryant Fitness Center is featuring a half marathon Saturday. Sign-in is 5:30 a.m. and the race begins at 6 a.m. The cost is $12 per person. Awards will be presented to the first through third-place male and female competitors. For more information or to sign up early, call (623) 856-6241.

Family 5k fun run

The Luke Air Force Base Bryant Fitness Center is featuring a family 5k fun run at 6:30 a.m. May 11 at the 944th Fighter Wing headquarters building. Awards will be presented to the first through third-place male and female competitors. There will medals for children. Refreshments and snacks are included. For more information, call (623) 856-6421.

Power lifting competition

The Luke Air Force Base Bryant Fitness Center is featuring a power lifting competition at 10 a.m. May 17 at the fitness center. Sign-in is 9 to 9:45 a.m. The events include squat, deadlift and bench press in men’s and women’s categories. First through third-place awarded in each weight class and lifting division. Ladies Night Out

Thunderbolt Lanes will feature a ladies night out 8 p.m. to midnight May 17. The cost is $15 per person paid in advance by May 12 or $20 at the door and includes shoe rental, bowling, pizza and pampering. DJ Que, henna artist and prize drawings are part of the fun.
