Half Marathon

Both Military and civilians start their run in the Luke Air Force Base Half Marathon in front of the Bryant Fitness Center at Luke Air Force Base. The participants ran 13.1 miles around a set course here within a three hour window.

Luke May Fitness Month Underway

May is fitness month for the Air Force. Every year Airmen are challenged to participate in different athletic endeavors. This year includes a plethora of events such as the Family 5k run, sand volleyball tournament, bowling tournament and a power lifting competition. Military and civilian personnel here at Luke are encouraged to participate in these events.

The half marathon began at 6 a.m. Saturday and kicked off the May fitness month with participants running a 13.1 mile course throughout Luke starting at the Bryant Fitness Center. May Fitness Month events include:

• Family 5K fun run Saturday at 6:30 a.m. at the 944th Fighter Wing headquarters building

• Aerobathon Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bldg. 700

• Bowling tournament Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. at the bowling center at Bldg. 1525

• Power lifting competition May 17 at 10 a.m. at the Warrior PT Center, Bldg. 820
