Ladies Night Out

Thunderbolt Lanes will host a ladies night out 8 p.m. to midnight May 17. The cost is $15 per person paid in advance by Sunday or $20 at the door. This fee includes shoe rental, bowling, pizza and pampering. DJ Que, henna artist and prize drawings are part of the fun. For more information, call (623) 856-6529.

Silver Wings Pool

Silver Wings Pool will be closed for 2013. As an alternative, consider using the Northwest Valley YMCA pool near the intersection ofLitchfield and Thomas roads or Surprise Aquatics Center on N. Bullard Avenue. For more information, call Luke Air Force Base Outdoor Recreation at (623) 856-6267.

Family 5k fun run

The Luke Air Force Base Bryant Fitness Center is featuring a family 5k fun run at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at the 944th Fighter Wing headquarters building. Awards will be presented to the first through third-place male and female competitors. There will medals for children. Refreshments and snacks are included. Power lifting competition

The Luke Air Force Base Bryant Fitness Center is hosting a power lifting competition at 10 a.m. May 17. Sign-in is 9 to 9:45 a.m. The events include squat, deadlift and bench press in men’s and women’s categories. First through third-place will be awarded in each weight class and lifting division.
