Inspirations: My mother and older sister always made me want to be better; they both work hard to provide for their families

Goals: Teach high school social sciences and help out my family in the Philippines

Famous last words: “Just one less body to clothe.”

Off-duty interests: Basketball, movies, spending time with friends, volunteering to reduce food waste

Commander’s comments: “Airman Balili has been a member of the optometry clinic for 17 months,” said Col. Daniel Smith, 56th AMDS commander. “He is making a difference through his positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to serving others. He sees challenges as opportunities. He works to ensure the optometry clinic delivers outstanding care. He receives excellent feedback about his friendly and professional demeanor. He takes his duty seriously and believes every detail affects the mission. He devotes his off-duty time to serving others. He’s actively involved in the chapel, St. Mary’s Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity and Food For Kids.”
