Street Beat – August 2, 2013

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents July 19 through 25:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for 13 moving and 11 nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

July 22: Security forces responded to a minor vehicle accident at the intersection of Bong Lane and Phantom Street. There were no injuries.

July 24: Security forces responded to a report of a hit-and-run traffic accident in the parking lot of the fitness center. An individual confessed the same day. There were no injuries.

Non emergency responses

July 19: Security forces responded to a report of a wall jumper adjacent to Bldg. 787. A subject was apprehended and later released to the unit first sergeant.

July 22: Security forces responded to a report of unauthorized photography of the flightline. The individuals were ordered to delete all photographs and briefed on proper flightline photography procedures.

July 23: Security forces apprehended an active-duty member during a routine traffic stop for driving on a suspended license. The individual was released to the unit first sergeant

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to three alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

If a vehicle appears to be abandoned, an Abandoned Vehicle Notice will be attached. If the notice has not been removed in 48 to 72 hours, the vehicle will be towed and impounded.

Safety fitness …

Zell Cameron, 56th Force Support Squadron Bryant Fitness Center supervisory maintenance technician, performs safety checks throughout the fitness center at Luke Air Force Base. The fitness center was named in honor of Lt. Col. Frank D. Bryant Jr., who was killed in action April 27, 2011, while serving in Afghanistan.
