Street Beat – August 23, 2013

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents Aug. 9 through 15:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for three moving and five non-moving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

Aug. 9: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident near Bldg. 312. There were no injuries.

Aug. 12: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident located at the northeast corner of Bldg. 337. There were no injuries.

Aug. 14: Security forces responded to a report of a major vehicle accident on 142nd Avenue and Super Sabre Street. There were no injuries.

Emergency responses

Aug. 9: Security forces and firemen responded to a fire alarm caused by a microwave oven at Bldg. 640.

Aug. 10: Security forces responded to a report of a medical emergency at the Fighter Country Inn Dormitory. Medical support was requested and the individual was treated and released.

Aug. 14: Security forces responded to a fire alarm at Bldg. 1150.

Nonemergency responses

Aug. 10: Security forces responded to an incident involving contributing to a minor, underage drinking, and possession of alcohol at Bldg. 637. The incident is under investigation.

Aug. 10: Security forces responded to an incident involving provoking speeches and gestures, disorderly conduct, and drunkenness. The incident is under investigation.

Aug. 11: Security forces responded to a report of shoplifting at the base exchange. Glendale police responded and took control.

Aug. 12: Security forces responded to a noise complaint in base housing.

Aug. 13: Security forces responded to a report of a violation of suspension at the base exchange.

Aug. 15: Security forces responded to a report of a bad check, written in July 2013. The First Sergeant was contacted and took control of the situation.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to eight alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

Kachina Gate is now open 6 to 8:30 a.m. and 12: 30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday; and 6 to 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 to 5: 30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. To drive onto the installation, motorcycle drivers and their passengers must wear a helmet, impact resistant goggles, a brightly colored or contrasting vest or a jacket during the day, upper garments with 12 square inches of reflective material at night, long-sleeved shirt or jacket, full fingered gloves, long trousers and footwear that covers the entire foot.
