Cinderella, Prince Charming closet
The Cinderella and Prince Charming Closet is looking for 100 new or gently used formal gowns, cocktail dresses and prom dresses in all sizes, colors and styles, as well as handbags and accessories to complete an outfit. For men, they are looking for 25 new or gently used business suits or coats and slacks to include dress shirts and ties, gently used shoes and accessories to complete an outfit. Drop off items at the Airman’s Attic

10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Calling all vets
The Nov. 1 issue of the Thunderbolt will be a special Veterans Day edition containing the stories of those who have served. If you would like your story told, or know of someone whose story should be told, email luke.thunderbolt@us.af.mil. For more information, call 623-856-5853.

Feds Feed Families
Luke Air Force Base, in conjunction with the commissary, is participating in the “Feds Feed Families” campaign by donating to St. Mary’s Food Bank. Food can be dropped off at the commissary or other collection points around base. Monetary donations can be made by purchasing $10 food bags from the cashier or customer service at the commissary and the commissary will fill them with canned soup, fruit and vegetables, tuna, rice, pasta, beans and peanut butter.

Enroll in MiCare
The secured messaging system called MiCare permits secure HIPAA-compliant web-based communication between patients and their primary care manager and healthcare team. MiCare helps patients avoid frustrating phone systems, call-back phone-tag and unnecessary visits to the clinic. It also allows patients to receive their results, ask for medication refills and more electronically. To ensure patient security, a face-to-face identification is required so visit the clinic to register for MiCare.

Air Force Ball golf tournament
The 2013 Air Force Ball golf tournament is a four-person team scramble at 7 a.m. Sept. 5 at the Wigwam Golf Resort in Litchfield Park. Registration is 6 a.m. and the sign-up deadline is Sept. 3. The cost is $40 per military and retirees and $50 per civilian and distinguished visitors. Lunch is included. For more information, call Master Sgt. Howard Suggs at 623-856-8118.

Give parents a break
The 56th Force Support Squadron Child Development Center and the Youth Center are offering free childcare once a month in a safe, age-appropriate learning environment. The service is for active-duty Air Force families who are experiencing stress due to a temporary duty assignment, deployment or unique hardships associated with military life to take a break. This free childcare service is offered 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 14, Oct. 19, Nov. 16 and Dec. 21. Reservations must be made by Sept. 6 for Sept. 14, Oct. 11 for Oct. 19, Nov. 8 for Nov. 16 and Dec. 13 for Dec. 21. Reservations are granted on a first come, first served basis. Lunch and a snack are included. To make reservations at the CDC for children from infant to 5 years, call (623) 856-6338. To make reservations at the youth center for children ages 6 to 12, call (623) 856-7471. The schedule is subject to change.

New library hours
The Luke Air Force Base Library new hours are 9:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays as of Monday. The library will be closed federal holidays and Sundays. For more information, call 623-856-7191.

Luke Experience
