Car show

The 2nd Annual MDG “Tune Up for Health” Car Show is
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 1 at Club Five Six. The committee is looking for muscle cars, classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles, sand rails and decked out lifted vehicles expected to arrive by 6:30 a.m. and be on display until 2 p.m. Nov. 1 and 8 to noon Nov. 2 at Retiree Appreciation Day. To register, email michelle.hoyt.2@us.af.mil. Include photos of the vehicle.

Thrift shop

The thrift shop will open at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Friday for sales and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for consignments starting Wednesday.

LOSC function

AFSA meeting

Calling all vets

Give parents a break

The 56th Force Support Squadron Child Development Center and the Youth Center are offering free childcare once a month in a safe, age-appropriate learning environment. The service is for active-duty Air Force families who are experiencing stress due to a temporary duty assignment, deployment or unique hardships associated with military life to take a break. This free childcare service is offered 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 14, Oct. 19, Nov. 16 and Dec. 21. Reservations must be made by todday for Sept. 14, Oct. 11 for Oct. 19, Nov. 8 for Nov. 16 and Dec. 13 for Dec. 21. Reservations are granted on a first come, first served basis. Lunch and a snack are included. To make reservations at the CDC for children from infant to 5 years, call (623) 856-6338. To make reservations at the youth center for children ages 6 to 12, call (623) 856-7471. The schedule is subject to change.

New library hours

The Luke Air Force Base Library new hours are 9:30 to
7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays as of Monday. The library will be closed federal holidays and Sundays. For more information, call 623-856-7191.

Luke Experience
