Street Beat – September 6, 2013

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents Aug. 23 through 29:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for nine moving and four non-moving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

Aug. 26: A civil arrest was made on a military member who caused an accident while driving under the influence eastbound on Interstate-10. There were no injuries.

Aug. 26: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident on the flightline access road. Temporary construction fencing blew over and made contact with the vehicle causing the damage. There were no injuries, and the incident is under investigation.

Aug. 27: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident involving two privately owned vehicles in the commissary parking lot. There were no injuries.

Aug. 28: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident located on Thunderbird Street and 138th Avenue. There were no injuries.

Emergency responses

Aug. 29: Security forces responded to a report of a medical emergency at Bldg. 617.

Nonemergency responses

Aug. 24: Security forces responded to a wants and warrants hit on a civilian. The individual was denied access and escorted off the installation.

Aug. 26: Security forces and firefighters responded to a report of damage to government and private property at Bldg. 663. Several vehicles were struck by large pieces of debris blown off from a roof due to high winds.

Aug. 27: Security forces responded to notification of an individual approaching Lightning Gate on foot. The person did not have credentials to access the installation and was escorted off the installation.

Aug. 27: Security forces responded to a report of damage to private property in the commissary parking lot.

Aug. 28: Security forces responded to a wants and warrants hit on a civilian at the South Gate. Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and took control.

Aug. 29: Security forces responded to a report of damage to government property at Bldg. 635.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to four alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

Base entry lists must now be submitted seven days prior to the event for processing. Lists need to be submitted to police services located in Bldg. 179.
