Street Beat – September 13, 2013

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents Aug. 27 through Sept. 5:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for three moving and one non-moving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

Sept. 1: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident in the base exchange parking lot. There were no injuries.

Sept. 3: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident on Litchfield Road and Lightning Street. Security forces assisted with directing traffic and oversaw the exchange of information. There were no injuries.

Non emergency responses

Aug. 27: Security forces responded to a report of damage to private property in the parking lot of the commissary.

Aug. 28: Security forces responded to a report of a wants and warrants hit from the Department of Public Safety on a civilian at the South Gate for driving while suspended and failure to pay. Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and took control.

Aug. 29: Security forces responded to a report of damage to government property at Bldg. 635.

Sept. 3: Security forces responded to a report of theft of private property at the construction yard adjacent to the chapel.

Sept. 3: Security forces and firefighters responded to a report of loss of private property on the first floor of the base exchange parking garage. The incident is under investigation.

Sept. 4: Security forces responded to a report of damage to private property at Bldg. 461.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to five alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

It is illegal to use radar detectors on a military installation. Ensure they are turned off or unplugged prior to entering the installation.
