Air Force Ball

Derrick Hall, Diamondbacks president and CEO, was the guest speaker for the Air Force Ball Sept.14 at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park. Hall spoke about the importance of giving back to the community. He also emphasized the value of taking care of each other to create a positive work environment.

Brig. Gen. Mike Rothstein, 56th Fighter Wing commander, and Airman 1st Class Jose Rojas Diaz, 756th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron knowledge operations manager apprentice and the youngest attendee at the Air Force Ball, cut the cake together. The theme of the Air Force Ball was “The Evolution of Airpower” recognizing the history of Luke AFB and Thunderbolt Airmen.

A POW/MIA table is reserved to honor the missing comrades in arms in front of the ballroom at the Wigwam Resort. The honors ceremony symbolizes that they will not be forgotten.

This patriotic cluster bomb unit replica was displayed at the Wigwam Resort in the reception area. Senior Airman Chasity Rash, 56th Equipment Maintanance Squadron munitions systems specialist, used her talents to design the exhibit to show her pride for America and the U.S. military. Many exhibits were displayed in commemoration of the evolution of airpower.
