61st FS reactivation

The 61st Fighter Squadron will reactivate as an F-35 Lightning II training squadron in a ceremony at 3:30 p.m. today in Club Five Six. Lt. Col. Michael Ebner will assume command.

Connecting families

“Daddy Read a Book” connects deployed parents with children at home by providing a free video of the parent reading a favorite book. Reading sessions are conducted

CONS golf tourney

The 56th Contracting Squadron Booster Club is hosting a golf tournament at Falcon Dunes Golf Course
Nov. 14. Check-in begins at 7:15 a.m. and tee time is 8:30 a.m. The cost is $50 per person and includes lunch. For more information, email 2nt Lt. Kyle Street at kyle.street.1@us.af.mil with team members’ names by Nov. 12.

Boots to business

The Luke Air Force Base Airman and Family Readiness Center is featuring a two-day transition assistance program self-employment training workshop from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 6 and 7 at the A&FRC.

The purpose of the workshop is to learn how to start a business, what business ideas are feasible and to get assistance in developing a plan for future ventures. To be eligible, attendees must be a transitioning service member, veteran or spouse interested in starting a business. To register or for more information, call 623-856-6550.

Tres Rios nature festival
