Street Beat – October 25, 2013

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents Oct. 11 through 18.

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for 10 moving and one nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

Oct. 12: Security forces responded to a report of a major vehicle accident at the intersection of Glendale Avenue and Litchfield Road. There were no injuries. Glendale police arrived and took control.

Oct. 15: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident involving a government-owned vehicle and a fixed object located at Bldg.1040. There were no injuries.

Oct. 19: Security forces responded to a request for assistance from the Department of Public Safety on a traffic stop at the intersection of Lalomai Road and Glendale Avenue. Two active-duty members were traveling at 65 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Nonemergency responses

Oct. 11: Security forces responded to a report of a wall jumper adjacent to Mustang Road and 139th Drive. Contact was made with the individual who fled from the patrol back over the installation perimeter wall. The individual then attempted to enter the South Gate and was apprehended and taken to security forces to be interviewed. The individual received a rights advisement for charges of failure to obey, fleeing apprehension and disorderly conduct/drunkenness.

Oct. 12: A civil arrest was made on an active-duty member in Surprise by Surprise police for sexual abuse/sexual assault.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to nine alarm activations on base.
