Commander’s comments: “Airman Nicolas came to me fresh out of basic military training,” said Maj. Quoc-Nam Nguyen, 56th CONS commander. “He quickly learned how to maintain our contract writing system, process purchase requests and process military interdepartmental purchase requests through the automated business service system. He is the cornerstone between the 56th Comptroller Squadron and CONS at the end of the fiscal year. His actions contributed to the 56th Fighter Wing’s execution of 323 contract actions totaling $21 million in the last quarter of the fiscal year. He pushed through $60,000 to replace flooring in Bldg. 1150 with 24 seconds left in the fiscal year. Bottom line, he’s an ‘up and comer!’”
