• Military annual leave, or ordinary leave, begins and ends in the local area. All supervisors should ensure that leave is charged for duty days and nonduty days (for example, Friday through Monday) when members take leave on the day before and the day after nonduty days. This applies to leave taken in the local area. (See AFI 36-3003, Military Leave Program, Paragraph 6.1.7).
• There are times when spouses, parents and even tax preparers need information regarding pay issues for Airmen. By law, we must respect the privacy of all Airmen and cannot discuss any aspect of their pay unless you have a valid special power of attorney. Discuss this with your chosen representative and a member of your legal assistance team, especially before any deployments.
