Thunderbirds to headline Luke open house March 15-16

56th FW Public Affairs

Luke AFB will host “Luke Days 2014,” an open house and air show, March 15 and 16, 2014. The U.S. Air Force’s premier aerial demonstration team, the Thunderbirds, will headline the weekend’s activities with performances both days.

A static display of Luke’s newest aircraft, the F-35A Lightning II, should also be available for viewing.

Previous base open houses have averaged more than 100,000 spectators each day. There will be food, games and attractions for the whole family. The event is open to the public and admission is free.
For more information, visit www.luke.af.mil and click on the “Open House and Air Show” graphic on the middle of the page. Information can also be found on the 56th Fighter Wing’s official Facebook page, “Luke AFB, Arizona-56th Fighter Wing.”

The event website is the best place to visit for daily updates. Some of the information included is a full list of expected aerial acts, prohibited items, points of contact and information for media outlets. The site will be updated as information becomes available.

Media outlets looking for more information can contact Capt. Ryan DeCamp at 623-856-7033 or via email at ryan.decamp@us.af.mil.
