The F-84F Thunderstreak is one of the aircraft that sits in the Luke Air Base Air Park. F-84s were the main type of trainers at Luke from 1951 to 1957. In 1953, the newly formed U.S. Air Force Stardusters Aerial Demonstration Team, later called the Thunderbirds, converted to the F-84G and flew at Luke until their transfer in 1956 to Nellis AFB, Nev. The Thunderbirds are scheduled to perform during Luke’s upcoming open house and air show March 15 and 16. For more information, click on the link on luke.af.mil.
