Imminent danger pay will discontinue in several areas starting June 1. The land and airspace of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Serbia and Montenegro will no longer be designated. The land areas of East Timor, Haiti, Liberia, Oman, Rwanda, Tajikistan, United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will also no longer be designated.
The following sea areas will be decertified: Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, Golf of Oman, the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. However, the upcoming changes to IDP have not impacted deployed service members’ combat zone tax exclusion status at this time. CZTE is a provision in the Internal Revenue Service tax code.
