Leave sell-back

The law pertaining to leave was recently changed to allow enlisted members with accumulated leave of more than 120 days to sell up to 30 days of leave back, other than at re-enlistment, separation, or extension of enlistment, once in a career. This leave sell-back counts toward the statutory 60-day maximum in a career. For more information or to initiate this process, call the 56th Force Support Squadron Military Personnel Section.

Luke tax center seeks volunteers

The Luke Air Force Base tax center opens its doors to file returns for the entire Luke community beginning Monday. To offer this service, the tax center relies solely on volunteers (active-duty, civilians and retirees) who become certified tax preparers through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Volunteers must be trained to be certified tax preparers and work at least four hours per week in the tax center from Jan. 27 through April 15, 2014. For more information, call Beverly Dennie at 623-856-6901 or email beverly.dennie.1@us.af.mil.

The service is for active-duty Air Force families who are experiencing stress due to a temporary duty assignment, deployment or unique hardships associated with military life to take a break. Lunch and a snack are included. For children from infant to age 5, call 623-856-6338. For children ages 6 to 12, call 623-856-7471.
