Professional development op

Participants of the Luke Air Force Base Library Reading Rewards program can receive a free copy of USA Today 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday or 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the library. Select two articles with unfamiliar words and meet in a group or one-on-one with an instructor at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the library. Sweetheart steak night

Sweetheart steak night is 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 14. The cost is $30 per couple and $15 per single for members, $40 per couple and $20 per single for nonmembers, and includes steak, sides, champagne and dessert. Deadline to register is Feb. 10. Spouse talk, tour

The Luke Air Force Base spouse talk and tour is 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Participants meet new spouses and learn about community events, employment, volunteering, childcare, education opportunities and more. For more information, call 623-856-6550.

The Airman and Family Readiness Center is offering Finance 101 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 18 and Credit Score Enhancement 10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 19 at the center. For more information, call 623-856-6550.

Luke tax center seeks volunteers

The Luke Air Force Base tax center is open to file returns for the Luke community through April 15. To offer this service, the tax center relies solely on volunteers (active-duty, civilians and retirees) who become certified tax preparers through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Volunteers must be trained to be certified tax preparers and work at least four hours per week in the tax center through April 15. Give parents a break

The 56th Force Support Squadron Child Development Center and the Youth Center are offering free childcare in a safe, age-appropriate learning environment 11 a.m. to
5 p.m. Feb. 8. The reservation deadline is Thursday. The service is for active-duty Air Force families who are experiencing stress due to a temporary duty assignment, deployment or unique hardships associated with military life to take a break. Lunch and a snack are included. For children from infant to age 5, call 623-856-6338. For children ages 6 to 12, call 623-856-7471.
