Street Beat

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents Jan. 25 through Feb. 2:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for 12 moving and 12 nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

Jan. 30: Security forces responded to a report of a minor two-vehicle accident and a possible hit-and-run in the parking lot of Bldg. 545. The driver backed up a vehicle to Bldg. 959 to pick up freight and was not aware of hitting anything. There were no injuries.

Emergency responses

Jan. 30: Security forces responded to a report of a medical emergency at Salado Road. The patient was transported to West Valley Hospital.

Feb. 2: Security forces responded to a report of suicidal threats made by an individual in Bldg. 640. Security forces confirmed the individual did not require medical attention but did possess a weapon, which was confiscated. The individual’s first sergeant was contacted and took control.

Nonemergency responses

Jan. 27: Security forces responded to a warrant’s hit at Bldg. 897 for failure to appear on a drug-related charge in Scottsdale. Glendale police took control.

Jan. 27: Security forces responded to a warrant’s hit at Bldg. 897 for failure to pay a traffic offense from Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. MCSO deputy took control.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to 12 alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

Make sure children know how to call 911, or “0” in emergencies, and to use a public phone. Help them practice making emergency phone calls. Ensure emergency numbers – police, fire, poison control and emergency medical – are by all phones.
