Dollars and Sense

We expect the Air Force to direct a 100-percent recertification of basic allowance for housing beginning in March 2014.

Every active-duty member receiving basic allowance for housing will be required to recertify his entitlement with the 56th Comptroller Squadron customer service. The recertification must be accomplished in person and Airmen will be required to present the necessary documentation (i.e., marriage certificate, birth certificate, divorce decree, court order). Failure to present the required documents could result in termination of the entitlement. While we will look to provide additional assistance to deployed Airmen, the requirement to present the appropriate documentation will be enforced. We urge all Airmen to ensure they have the proper documentation now and are prepared for when Air Force direction is received.

For more information, call the 56th CPTS customer service section.
