Street Beat

The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents Feb. 10 through 16:

Tickets

Security forces issued citations for 13 moving and three nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

Feb. 11: Security forces responded to a report of a minor two-vehicle accident in the parking lot of Bldg. 1550. There were no injuries.

Feb. 13: Security forces responded to a report of a minor two-vehicle accident in the parking lot of Bldg. 913. There were no injuries.

Feb. 14: Security forces responded to a report of a minor two-vehicle accident at Bldg. 636. There were no injuries.

Nonemergency responses

Feb. 10: Security forces responded to a report of a wall jumper in Ocotillo housing. Contact was made with an individual fitting the description of the subject. The Air Force Office of Special Investigations was contacted and declined an interview. Glendale police arrived and conducted a National Crime Information Center check on the subject, which revealed the subject had five outstanding warrants. Glendale police transported the subject for processing.

Feb. 12: Security forces responded to a warrants hit for possession of drug paraphernalia from Yavapai County Sherriff’s Office at Bldg. 879. The Department of Public Safety declined to extradite. The individual was denied access to the installation.

Feb. 14: Security forces responded to a report of individuals communicating a threat via the Luke spouses group Facebook page on Zuni Circle in Ocotillo housing. There was chatter on Facebook about a disagreement with a military spouse on the speed limit in housing, which escalated to involve others and an individual feeling threatened. Glendale police were contacted and stated there was no threat communicated or cyber crime committed.

Feb. 16: Security forces responded to a report of a domestic disturbance/verbal altercation on Kiowa Street. The unit first sergeant took control.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to four alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

It is illegal to use radar detectors on a military installation. They should be turned off or unplugged prior to entering the installation.
