How do I get there?

The 56th Security Forces Squadron and Glendale Police Department want to minimize traffic congestion and provide our guests and personnel quick access to the base and parking areas. The following will guide guests to three parking areas: Lot A (park and walk), Lot B (park and ride) and Handicapped Parking.

Parking Lot A

– $10 per vehicle

Park your vehicle and walk to the airfield

From Interstate 10, proceed northbound on either Dysart Road or Litchfield Road.

If using Dysart Road, turn left (west) onto Glendale Avenue and proceed to Parking Lot A.

If using Litchfield Road, continue northbound until you are directed to Parking Lot A.

From Arizona Loop 101, exit on Glendale Avenue.

Proceed west toward Litchfield Road until you are directed to Parking Lot A.

There is no handicapped parking in Lot A.

Parking Lot B

– $10 per vehicle

Park your vehicle and ride a chartered bus to the airfield.

Take Arizona Loop 101 and exit at either Northern Avenue or Olive Avenue.

Proceed westbound on Northern or Olive avenues.

At Dysart Road (or El Mirage Road) go right (north) to Peoria Avenue.

At Peoria Avenue go left (west) to Parking Lot B.

Visitors from the southeast valley using westbound I-10 are encouraged to take the Loop 101 exit, and proceed northbound following the above instructions.

Visitors from the northwest (Sun City or Surprise)

Proceed southbound on Litchfield Road to Peoria Avenue.

Turn left (east) on Peoria Avenue to Parking Lot B.

Handicapped Parking on base

– No charge

To ensure access to handicapped parking, the vehicle must have a state-issued handicapped license plate or placard. No one will be allowed through the traffic control points or into the handicapped parking without the proper state-issued handicapped license plate or placard.

Handicapped visitors from the northwest (Sun City or Surprise), use southbound Dysart Road until you reach Northern Avenue.

Turn right (west) on Northern Avenue and proceed to Litchfield Road.

At Litchfield Road officers will verify your plate or placard.

Turn left (south) on Litchfield Road and proceed to the North Gate located on the right.

Turn right (west) into the North Gate and follow “After entering the North Gate” instructions below.

Handicapped visitors from the south (Goodyear, Litchfield Park and Avondale), use northbound Dysart Road and proceed to Northern Avenue.

Turn left (west) on Northern Avenue and proceed to Litchfield Road.

Turn left (south) on Litchfield Road and proceed to the North Gate located on the right.

Turn right (west) into the North Gate and follow “After entering the North Gate” instructions below.

All other handicapped visitors: Exit Arizona Loop 101 at Northern Avenue.

Proceed westbound on Northern Avenue to Litchfield Road.

Turn left (south) on Litchfield Road and proceed to the North Gate located on the right.

Turn right (west) into the North Gate and follow “After entering the North Gate” instructions below.

After entering the North Gate

Once on base, handicapped personnel follow the posted signs to the designated parking areas.

Note: All vehicles entering Luke Air Force Base are subject to search. Failure to consent to search may result in being denied entry to the base.

Traffic around the base

Glendale Avenue will be closed just east of Litchfield Road. Litchfield Road will be closed just south of Glendale Avenue and just south of Lightning Gate. Litchfield Road will be closed from Luke to Peoria Avenue. Litchfield Road will be closed from Camelback Road to Luke, with the exception of traffic parking in Lot A. No thru traffic will be allowed. Northern Avenue will be closed between Reems Road and Litchfield Road. Handicap placard and plate holders can only access the base from the north at Litchfield Road and Olive Avenue.

Other security considerations

All spectators coming to the show will be required to pass through a security check point prior to entering the base. The following items will be allowed to be brought on base but will be checked: Cameras with bags, folding chairs (highly recommend due to limited available seating), diaper bags, or any type of bag containing medical supplies.

Coolers, backpacks and weapons (if it has a blade it will not be allowed on) are prohibited on the base.
