Flying Fortress makes appearance at Luke

Tail-end

Bombardier

Big-bullets
A .50 caliber machine gun was used by waist gunners to defend aircraft against enemy attacks at the midsection of the B-17G. The WWII heavy bomber was on display Saturday and Sunday at the Luke Open House and Air Show.

Mike Rothstein, 56th Fighter Wing commander, sits in the co-pilot seat of a B-17 Flying Fortress March 13 during the flight from the Commemorative Air Force Airbase Arizona to Luke Air Force Base. The B-17 Flying Fortress, along with other WWII aircraft, was on display Saturday and Sunday at Luke’s Open House and Air Show.
