Tip of the week

When yielding to emergency vehicles, remember:

  • When an emergency vehicle is approaching, use the right turn signal, slow down, pull to the side of the road as quickly as possible and stop.
  • When the emergency vehicle has passed, use the left turn signal and pull back into traffic when clear. Avoid rushing back into traffic.
  • When an emergency vehicle approaches on a curve or hill, do not stop in the curve or on the hill. At a normal speed, go beyond the area to a flat or straight stretch of the road.
