Change of command

Lt. Col. Jon Wheeler, 310th Fighter Squadron commander, will relinquish command to Lt. Col. Matthew Warner in a ceremony at 8:31 a.m. April 18 in Hangar 913.

LOSC social

The Luke Officers Spouses Club is featuring the annual bingo social at 11 a.m. April 15 at Club Five Six. The cost of the meal is $16 per person. Dues-paying members are eligible to win prizes. RSVP by April 8 by emailing Cindy at LukeOSCReservations@gmail.com.

AFSA meeting

Resilience training

Resilience training assistant course is a three-day class that teaches ways Airmen can be resilient: physical, mental, spiritual and social. Airmen in this class will go to their units as RTAs and provide other Airmen with the tools to balance all forms of resiliency. Heartlink

Heartlink is a spouse-orientation program at 10 a.m. to

3rd Annual Gillespie Memorial Ride

The Luke Air Force Base fuels family is hosting the 3rd Annual Gillespie Memorial Ride on May 3 at Jimbo’s on 51st Avenue and Cactus Road in Glendale. The ride is in honor of Master Sgt. Randy Gillespie who was killed in action in July 2007. Registration/sign-in is 7 to 9 a.m. at Jimbo’s. The cost is $15 per single rider and $20 with a passenger. March of the Fallen

March of the Fallen, a 4.5-mile ruck march through the White Tank Mountains, begins at 7 a.m. April 19 at the Raven at Verrado. The march honors fallen military members from Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Register online at 222.fightercountry.org/motf. The cost is $40 per marcher and $50 per motivator. Proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior Project and Luke Air Force Base Airman’s Fund. For more information, email k.powers10@yahoo.com.

Spouse scholarships

The April 30 deadline is approaching to apply for the Air Force Association Mike & Gail Donley Spouse Scholarship. The scholarship is available to military spouses and will provide $2,500 to the best qualified candidate. Toastmasters

Road closures

The following roads will be affected by paving projects: Gillespie Drive through April 11; Homer Drive and Harris Lane from Marauder Street to Mitchell Street Monday through April 18; Mitchell Street from Jerstad east to the end of the road April 21 through 30; and the road south of the base exchange and parking lot between 138th and 137th avenues. 56th Fighter Wing combat dining-in

The combat dining-in is 6 p.m. April 26 in Hangar 913. Tickets cost $15 per person and are available through squadron representatives. Dress includes any Air Force utility/combat uniform past or present in good taste, rank must be correct if worn and bring water balloons and water guns. For more information, call 2nd Lt. Job fair

The 2014 job fair is 9 a.m to 3 p.m. Tuesday in Club Five Six. The event is hosted by the Airman & Family Readiness Center. More than 60 local and national employers will be there and recruiters from the aircraft and healthcare industries, and government agencies. Admission and resume review will be free. Participants should be prepared with a resume to interview. For more information, call 623-856-6550.

Women’s scholarship

The Phoenix Federal Women’s 2014 scholarship is offered to undergraduate college students with a GPA of 2.0 to 3.5. Applicants must submit transcripts as proof of eligibility and must be an Arizona resident as well as a U.S. citizen or have legal status. Applications must be postmarked by April 22. Motorcycle event

Luke Air Force Base motorcycle riders can ride bikes on the flightline April 19. For more information, call 623-856-5616.
