The 56th Security forces Squadron handled the following incidents March 24 through 30:
Security forces issued citations for one nonmoving violation.
March 25: Security forces responded to a report of a DUI at Lightning Gate. Security forces detected an alcohol odor on the person, and observed blood shot eyes and slurred speech. A breathe alcohol test was administered with a reading of 0.268. The person was transported to security forces and advised of Article 31 rights.
March 28: Security forces responded to a report of a minor two-vehicle accident. There were no injuries.
March 24: Security forces responded to a medical emergency on Salado. The individual was transported to a local hospital via ambulance.
March 25: Security forces and firefighters responded to a report of a death on base. They entered the residence, assessed the victim who was cold to the touch and without a pulse and initiated CPR. Avondale and Goodyear responders arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased. Air Force Office of Special Investigations arrived on scene and took control of the investigation.
March 24: A civil arrest for disorderly conduct assault was made in Surprise on an active-duty member. The individual’s spouse stated the locks had been changed on the house and when the spouse attempted to drive away, the member got physical. Surprise police arrived and placed the member under arrest. The member was cited and released.
March 25: Security forces responded to a report of an individual altering a medical prescription at the pharmacy. Security forces arrived on scene, detained the individual and issued a suspension of base exchange, commissary and shoppette privileges letter. Glendale police arrived on scene and took control.
March 27: Security forces responded to a report of shoplifting in Bldg. 1540. Security forces verified via the security video tape the individual departed without rendering full payment.
March 28: Security forces responded to a report of damage to government property at Bldg. 235. There were no witnesses to the incident.
March 28: Security forces responded to a report of contributing to a minor, underage drinking and possession of alcohol in Bldg. 637. Two individuals were transferred to Bldg. 179 and were advised their rights. Both were later released to their first sergeants.
Security forces responded to 11 alarm activations on base.
Tip of the week
Family members or civilians are not allowed on the streets of Luke Air Force Base, including housing, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian between the hours of 1 to 5 a.m. for youth ages 16 and 17, and 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for youth to age 15.
