Chaplain’s Thoughts

Cicero

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”

~ Cicero

The thirst for knowledge was incredible during the days of the Roman Empire. In that day and time, even for the commoner, acquiring books was nearly on par with buying clothing. Today, a lack of knowledge can often lead us to a lack of purpose. And without purpose, we are like a vessel without the proper contents, which can lead to unintended consequences. Proverbs 2:6 tells us, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Are you living a hollow life with echoes of nothingness? If so, I encourage you to fill that void with the wisdom of the Lord. Having a life without Godly wisdom will leave you in a constant state of void, and too often we try to fill that void with things that are not pure. Let God fill your soul with wisdom.

Find inspiration all around for daily grind

SHAZAM! That is the war cry of the 56th Operations Support Squadron. It comes from the comic book character Captain Marvel, who was introduced back in 1939. SHAZAM is an acronym of six Greek and Roman gods and heroes, each defining a special ability that the superhero possesses. There is Solomon for wisdom, Hercules for...

Forgetting past leads to repeating it

Leading up to this event, Hussein had invaded the country of Kuwait Aug. 2, 1990. He targeted Kuwait due to its extensive supply of oil and his belief that Kuwait was...
